DP Water is a Non–Profit Organization

The Dobbin Plantersville Water Supply Corporation is chartered as a Non–profit Corporation owned by its customers. Each owning 1 share of the company with one vote. The corporation is run by a Board of Directors elected by the voters.

The system is managed and run by the manager hired by the Board of Directors and has outside contractor that provides two certified operators.

The system water revenues pay all the system costs of operation and retires the monies borrowed from the federal Government.

The water supply system is approved by the TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality).

The water is chlorinated for your safety.

The water is sampled monthly for bacteria by the state.

System size and location

The Dobbin–Plantersville Water Supply Corporation is an existing non–profit water supply company located in southeast Grimes County and western Montgomery County in southeast Texas. The system presently serves 945 active customers with water. The system has 403 reserved or dry tap meters that are inactive. 3 hydro-pneumatic water plants, 2 standpipe plants and 2 remote well sites provide water service and pressure. Water is treated at all plants for iron removal. The treatment process is by pressure filters. The existing distribution system consists of approximately 163.90 miles 1” through 6” lines. Water is provided by 7 deep wells.

Service Area, Well Data and Maps

The area covered the Certificate of Convenience of Necessity number # 11052 is located 2 miles South of Downtown Magnolia, Texas and generally bounded on the North by Little Caney Creek in Grimes County and by the Sam Houston National Forest in the Montgomery County, on the West by F.M. 2445 in Grimes County, on the South by the Waller County line in Grimes County and by the City of Magnolia in the Montgomery County, and on the East by F.M. 149 in Montgomery County. The System serves customers in and near the communities of Dacus, Dobbin, and Montgomery in Montgomery County, and the Communities of Plantersville and Stoneham in Grimes County.
